BPA can migrate from some plastic containers into food. A 2026 case-control study linked higher urinary BPA with higher odds of early breast development in girls.

What we know

A 2026 Journal of Clinical Research in Pediatric Endocrinology case-control study measured urinary BPA and parabens in Iranian girls. Girls in the highest quartile of BPA had higher odds of premature thelarche, which means breast development before age 8, than girls in the lowest quartile.

What this means for your family

Glass storage is the clearest product step for food-contact BPA because glass does not use BPA.

Simple safer steps

Use glass containers for leftovers, snacks, and baby food. Do not microwave food in plastic. Keep thermal receipts out of kids' hands when possible because some receipt paper can contain bisphenols.
