Your body is aging faster than it should, and environmental chemicals are part of the reason. A machine learning study identified specific chemicals that accelerate biological aging.

What the Study Found

A 2026 study using interpretable machine learning identified environmental chemical factors associated with biological age acceleration. Certain chemical exposures make your body's biological clock run faster than your actual calendar age.

Biological age acceleration means your organs, cells, and tissues are deteriorating faster than expected. It's linked to earlier onset of age-related diseases: heart disease, cancer, dementia, and death.

Which Chemicals Speed Aging

The study identified chemicals from categories you've seen throughout this blog: PFAS, phthalates, heavy metals, pesticides, and other environmental pollutants. The more exposure, the faster the aging.

What You Can Do

Reduce chemical exposure across every category. Filter water. Avoid plastic. Go organic. Use non-toxic cleaning and personal care products. Every chemical you avoid is time you're giving back to your body.
