Chemicals you encounter daily at home are showing up in lung cancer risk profiles. A new study scanned the full chemical environment and found connections.

What the Study Found

A 2026 exposomic analysis used advanced mass spectrometry to identify emerging contaminants associated with lung cancer risk and recurrence. The study found household environmental chemicals linked to both developing lung cancer and having it return.

Lung cancer isn't just about smoking anymore. Environmental exposures from household products, building materials, and indoor air are adding to the risk.

What You Can Do

Improve indoor air quality. Use non-toxic cleaning products. Run HEPA air purifiers. Ventilate your home. Reduce synthetic materials.
