The Link Between Your Plate and Cancer

A 2026 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition tracked 31,179 adults to see if swapping conventional fruits and vegetables for organic versions changes cancer outcomes. The results are specific: for every 100g per day of conventional produce replaced with organic, there was a measurable decrease in the risk of postmenopausal breast cancer (HR 0.90). You can read the full study here.

Why Conventional Matters

Conventional produce often carries pesticide residues that are linked to carcinogenic properties. While researchers found no significant association for every cancer type, the data for postmenopausal breast cancer remained significant even after rigorous adjustments. This isn't about fear. It is about identifying a simple, actionable way to reduce your exposure to chemicals that have no place in your body.

How to Make the Switch

You don't need to overhaul your entire life overnight. Start by prioritizing organic for the produce you eat most often. Beyond what you eat, look at how you prepare it. If you are still using plastic tools that shed microplastics into your food, it is time to upgrade. We carry a variety of non-toxic kitchen alternatives to help you minimize chemical exposure in every meal you prepare. Start small, swap one item at a time, and keep reading the data.
