BPA Alternative BPAF Reprograms Babies' Immune and Liver Systems

BPAF (bisphenol AF), a BPA replacement chemical, reprograms the immune and metabolic systems of babies exposed during the perinatal period. The damage shows up as liver toxicity that carries across generations.
What the Study Found
A 2026 multi-omics study found that perinatal BPAF exposure reprograms offspring's immune-metabolic axis, causing intergenerational hepatotoxicity. The chemical doesn't just damage the exposed offspring. It programs damage that can be passed down.
BPAF is used in electronics, plastics, and as a BPA substitute. It's another example of a "safer" alternative that turned out to be just as bad or worse.
What You Can Do
Avoid all bisphenol compounds during pregnancy. Use glass and stainless steel. Choose products explicitly labeled "bisphenol-free." Demand better regulation of chemical substitutes.
